ALIV HELP CENTER

How can we help?

Everything you need to get started, go live, and connect with your fans.

Getting Started and Installation

What is ALIV, and what can I use it for?

ALIV is an interactive streaming tool for streamers. You can create your own avatar, configure actions and personality traits, and let ALIV respond to interactions through text bubbles. Your avatar, actions, and subtitles can appear on your stream. ALIV also offers fan interaction features such as Spotlight and Buddy.

Which computer systems and streaming platforms does ALIV support?

ALIV provides installers for Windows and macOS. Choose the version that matches your operating system and processor architecture.

ALIV connects to YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok. Supported interaction events and available features may differ by platform. Check the options shown in the app.

What do I need before using ALIV for the first time?

Have your streaming platform account, streaming software such as OBS, a photo for creating your avatar, and a microphone for speech recognition and subtitles ready.

For your first setup, follow this sequence: sign in to ALIV → connect your streaming account → create your avatar and actions → set the personality and stream category → configure your stream schedule → add the OBS source → run a test → connect to your live stream.

Accounts and Platform Connections

How do I connect my streaming platform account?

Go to “Settings” → “Linked Accounts,” choose your streaming platform, and follow the on-screen instructions. Once connected, check that the displayed account is the one you use to stream.

What should I do if a platform connection fails or expires?

First, check your internet connection. Make sure you signed in to the correct platform account and granted the required permissions. If the connection process opens a browser, complete the browser prompts, then return to ALIV to check the status.

If ALIV says the connection has expired, follow the instructions to reconnect. If you still cannot connect, contact support with the platform name, error message, and time the issue occurred.

What does “Main streaming platform” do, and can I change it?

Your main streaming platform determines which platform settings appear first and serves as the default when starting a stream. You can change it on the “Linked Accounts” page in “Settings.”

If your current Calendar window specifies a platform, the stream must also match that scheduled platform.

Creating Your ALIV and Actions

How do I create my own ALIV?

Open “Avatar Studio,” upload a photo, confirm that you have permission to use it, choose a style, and generate your avatar. After confirming the avatar, continue with generating its basic actions.

What kind of photo works best?

Use a clear, well-lit photo of one person with minimal obstructions. JPG or PNG is recommended. Avoid group photos, heavily blurred images, or photos where much of the face is covered.

Use a photo you own or have permission to use.

What should I do if avatar or action generation is taking a long time or fails?

Check the task status first. “Queued” or “Generating” means the task has not finished. Wait for the status to update and avoid submitting the same task repeatedly.

If the task shows a failure, read the error message and use the retry option provided. If there is no progress for a long time or retries keep failing, contact support with the task name, time of the issue, and a screenshot of the error.

How do I add actions and make them play automatically during a stream?

Add actions in the Action Library in Avatar Studio. You can use official samples, samples shared by the community, or start with your own description.

Once an action has finished generating, configure its triggers, such as chat keywords, emotions, or gift and support events from a connected platform. The action plays automatically when its trigger conditions are met.

Why does an action fail to play when a gift arrives or a keyword appears?

Check the following:

  1. The action has finished generating and belongs to the ALIV you are currently using.
  2. You have saved the relevant trigger settings.
  3. The platform, gift, or keyword in the trigger matches the actual event.
  4. ALIV is connected to the current platform live stream.
  5. The action plays when you click it manually during a test session.

If manual playback works but the live event does not trigger the action, record the specific event and when it occurred to help with troubleshooting.

Going Live and Setting Up Streaming Software

How do I add ALIV to OBS, TikTok LIVE Studio, or other streaming software?

Copy the “Overlay URL” provided by ALIV, then add a source in your streaming software:

  • OBS: Add a “Browser” source and paste the overlay URL.
  • TikTok LIVE Studio: Add a “Link” source and paste the overlay URL. The exact option name may vary with the current interface.
  • Other streaming software: If it supports browser or web link sources, try adding the URL and test how it displays first.

ALIV’s default output size is 1920 × 1080. If the source settings include width and height fields, use these dimensions, then adjust the source position and scale to fit your stream canvas.

Follow the on-screen instructions to start or connect the session, then check that your avatar and bubbles display correctly. Keep ALIV running throughout your stream.

What is the difference between “Test” and “Go Live”?

“Test” lets you check ALIV’s preview, AI replies, and action triggers without starting a real broadcast on a streaming platform.

“Go Live” connects ALIV to interactions from the selected platform’s live stream. You still need to start broadcasting through your streaming software. Clicking “Go Live” in ALIV alone does not start your platform broadcast.

Why does ALIV show “Waiting for live…”?

This means ALIV is waiting to detect the platform’s live stream and establish a connection. After you click “Go Live,” ALIV checks the live status automatically.

Start broadcasting in OBS, TikTok LIVE Studio, or your other streaming software. Confirm that your channel is actually live on the platform, rather than only showing a preview in your streaming software. If you have just started broadcasting, allow a moment for ALIV to detect and connect to the stream. You do not need to click “Go Live” repeatedly.

If the platform is already live but ALIV keeps waiting, make sure you are broadcasting from the same account linked to ALIV, and check your internet connection. Follow any specific error message shown on screen. If the issue persists, record the message and when it occurred, then contact support.

Why is my avatar missing from the ALIV preview or my stream?

Start with these three checks:

  1. Check whether “No ALIV” is selected in Calendar: If your avatar is also missing from the ALIV preview, check the avatar setting for the relevant stream window in “Calendar.” Selecting “No ALIV” means your streamer avatar will not appear during that window. To show your avatar, select the ALIV you want to use for that window.
  2. Check the overlay URL: If your avatar appears in the ALIV preview but is missing from OBS, TikTok LIVE Studio, or other streaming software, make sure the source contains the complete overlay URL copied from ALIV.
  3. Check source visibility: Make sure the source is visible, is not covered by other content, and has not been moved off the canvas or cropped out. In TikTok LIVE Studio, also check source visibility options such as hiding the source during PK. The exact setting name may vary with the current interface.

After making changes, refresh the source and check the display again. Keep ALIV running throughout your stream.

During a stream, ALIV monitors the overlay connection from OBS, TikTok LIVE Studio, or other streaming software. If no connection is detected, Home shows an “ALIV overlay not connected” warning, and the overlay status changes to “Abnormal.” Gifts and interactive effects may not display correctly while the connection is unavailable.

If you see this warning, use its “Copy URL” button to get the overlay URL again. Check or re-add the Browser or Link source in your streaming software, then refresh it. If the warning persists or the display does not recover after these checks, please contact us with a screenshot of the warning, the time it occurred, your streaming software, and your ALIV version.

How do I adjust the position and size of my avatar, bubbles, and subtitles?

Click “Edit” in the preview area on Home to open the layout editor. Drag the relevant elements to change their position and size, then save your changes.

Turn on subtitles before adjusting their layout. After saving, check both the ALIV preview and OBS to make sure text stays within the frame.

Why does an action keep repeating?

Check whether the action card is locked. During a live stream, a locked action plays in a loop. Unlock it to return to idle.

AI Replies and Subtitles

How do I set ALIV’s personality and reply language?

Open “Persona Studio,” set your ALIV’s name, language, and personality traits, then save. You can also choose your main stream category here.

ALIV’s reply language and the app’s interface language are separate settings. Adjust each as needed.

Why is ALIV not responding to viewers?

On Home, check that “AI reply” and “AI reply to chat” are enabled. Then confirm that ALIV is connected to the correct platform live stream and is receiving chat interactions.

During an active Spotlight session, regular AI replies are paused and the related controls are temporarily locked. Check Home for a notice about this.

If ALIV is not responding to your speech, check “AI reply to you,” your selected microphone, and the input level meter.

How can I stop ALIV from replying too often?

Turn off “AI reply to you” or “AI reply to chat” separately to keep only the interaction sources you need. To pause AI replies altogether, use the main “AI reply” switch.

If preset automatic messages are appearing too often, check their intervals under “Auto messages” in Persona Studio. Adjust or remove the relevant messages.

How do I enable subtitles on my stream?

Enable “Subtitles” in the AI control area on Home. Use the available options to set the speech recognition language and subtitle output language, and make sure the correct microphone is selected.

If you choose local subtitles, follow the prompts to prepare the required components and models. Wait until they are ready before testing. You can adjust subtitle position and size in the layout editor.

Why are subtitles missing or inaccurate?

Check the following:

  1. Subtitles are enabled.
  2. The correct microphone is selected and the input level meter responds when you speak.
  3. Your operating system allows ALIV to access the microphone.
  4. The speech recognition language matches the language you are speaking.
  5. Local subtitle components are ready, or your internet connection is working for online subtitles.
  6. Subtitles have not been moved off-screen or covered by another source in OBS.

If recognition is inaccurate, reduce background noise, adjust your distance from the microphone, and test again with a short, clearly spoken sentence.

Fan Interactions

ALIV provides a companion fan web app, mobile app, and keyboard so viewers can take part in your live stream. You configure your avatar and interactions in ALIV, while fans find you through the fan apps and access the relevant interaction features.

Fans can use the web app in a browser or use the mobile app. The companion keyboard provides access to interactions directly from the keyboard while fans chat during a stream. The sections below explain how to use features such as Spotlight and Buddy.

What is Spotlight, and how can fans take part?

Spotlight lets fans join you on stage during a scheduled time slot. Set your available stream windows in Calendar, then view bookings and their details on the Spotlight page.

Share the fan Spotlight link provided on the page so viewers can find it and participate. During the stream, keep your platform, schedule, and selected ALIV consistent.

What is ALIV Buddy, and why is it sometimes hidden?

ALIV Buddy is a companion pet that you and your fans raise together on your stream. Fans can use the ALIV app to help wake it, feed it, and take part in other interactions.

If Buddy is missing from your stream, first check the OBS visibility switch on the Buddy page. Buddy is temporarily hidden while Spotlight is active.

Why is a feature missing or marked “Coming soon”?

Available features may vary depending on your connected platforms and app version. Check your linked accounts and app version, then look for any requirements or status notices on the feature’s page.

“Coming soon” means the feature is not available yet.

Troubleshooting and Support

What should I do if ALIV will not open, runs slowly, or loses its live connection?

If ALIV will not open, first check that the installer matches your operating system and processor architecture. Record any error message shown by the system.

If it runs slowly, close any unnecessary programs using significant system resources, then check whether both OBS and ALIV are affected. If live interactions disconnect, confirm that your platform stream is still running and check the platform and overlay connection notices on Home in ALIV.

If you need to restart ALIV, prepare your stream scene first, as the overlay and interactions will be affected during the restart. If the problem continues, provide the error details and steps to reproduce it.

How do I check my version and update ALIV?

Go to “Settings” to view your current version and select “Check for Updates.” If an update is available, follow the prompts to download it and restart ALIV to finish updating.

Complete updates and testing before going live to avoid interrupting interactions with a restart during your stream.

What information should I provide when contacting support?

Include as much of the following as possible to help support investigate:

  • Your ALIV version, operating system version, and processor architecture.
  • Your streaming platform, the approximate time of the issue, and your time zone.
  • What you were doing, what you expected to happen, and what actually happened.
  • The full error message, relevant screenshots, or a short screen recording.
  • For generation issues, the relevant avatar or action name. For OBS issues, a screenshot of the source settings.

Hide sensitive information such as passwords and verification codes in screenshots or recordings.
